As someone who struggles massively with practical learning and tasks, the prospect of learning how to drive was very daunting, not helped by having a few lessons with another instructor who made me question whether I would be able to drive. Then I found Danny Gibson, and slowly but surely through his calm and caring approach he helped me to build my confidence and learn how to drive safely, not only for test but beyond test too. There were times where I made mistakes and felt like giving up completely but Danny ensured that I stuck with it and always took away the positives from the lesson through his belief in me I was able believe in myself.
Danny centred all of my lessons around my thoughts and feelings and would never push me into doing something that I did not feel ready for, allowing me to learn at my own pace. Overall the words I would use to describe Danny as an instructor are: patient, kind, funny, relaxed and simply brilliant. Before starting with Danny Gibson School of motoring, I spent several hours with a different instructor but didn’t feel like I was learning to drive and more that I was learning to just pass a test. Fortunately Danny Gibson ensured me that I’d develop my skills to drive safely, efficiently and confidently for and beyond test. Danny Gibson tailored each lesson to focus on the areas I felt I needed to develop ( AT TIMES DISPLAYING IMPRESSIVE DEGREES OF PATIENCE) rather than forcing a specific syllabus, emphasising self-evaluation, so that I was taking responsibility for my development as a driver and progressing at a rate I felt comfortable with. Throughout my lessons, I struggled but Danny Gibson calming manner and the way he helped me to fix my errors I had made in my driving lessons is what helped me to become a confident safe driver.
